We tailor our services to meet the specific needs of every individual. We provide:

Cover letter and résumé creation/revision

Interview Skill Training

Assistance researching and developing appropirate employment leads

Consulting and interviewing with employers

Employment accommodations.
What accommodations can be expected?
Our offices have accessible doors, elevators and restrooms. Public transportation is accessible via Metro & Access. ZoomText is provided on dedicated workstations for consumers with visual impairments.

Accelerated Employment Skills Training
What is AEST?
This is four weeks of training, with immersion in comprehensive job search and retention strategies. Each day begins with a training module addressing job hunting, life skills, and success strategies. Participants benefit from peer support in daily round tables, and individual guidance from the Training Coordinator.

Our Goal: is to help individuals conduct comprehensive and successful job searches by:

Developing necessary skills and strategies, and

Reducing the time spent on an employment search.

Topics covered include: effective communication, overcoming anxiety, self-empowerment, preparing for the interview, time management, completing online applications, networking, strategic résumés, job fair strategies, getting organized, posting résumés on the web, and retention strategies.

Job Coaching
A&M’s job coaching services are tailored to the needs of the employed consumer. The job coach’s objective is to assist the consumer in becoming successfully independent on his/her job. 
This can include but is not limited to:

completing paperwork

learning job tasks and routines

acclimating to the work site and culture

problem solving, and

developing and requesting accommodations.

All of our job coaches are experienced rehabilitation professionals, with the ability to coach on-site or offsite, and expertise in working with consumers of diverse backgrounds.

Community-Based Employment Assessment
We use Community-Based Employment Assessment to provide our clients an opportunity to experience employment in a competitive working environment. Assessment sites are determined according to the skills, qualifications and abilities of the participant.

No cost is incurred by the employer.

Participants are paid by A&M.

Workman's compensation and employment taxes are paid through A&M.

Department of labor laws are met since our client is employed as a trainee of A&M's community-based assessment program.

An A&M staff member provides supervision as long as the client needs assistance in performing job functions.

Staff supervision will guarantee the trainee will complete the duties of the job in an effective and efficient manner.

Staff supervision will make observations and collect information used to assist clientele in occupational decision making.

A typical part-time employment assessment lasts from one to two weeks. Working hours are scheduled by the employer.

Employer participation in Community-Based Employment Assessment is voluntary, and are under no obligation or contractual agreement, and may terminate the assessment at any time.
